Thank you Avon for being the first organization to back our idea through your Hello Tomorrow Awards. We appreciate our very first grant of $5,000. For more information, click on: http://avon.com/hellotomorrowfund

Thank you award-winning toymaker Bright Starts for naming Amy as one of eight "2008 Pink Power Moms. Amy's family friend Jennifer Snyder nominated her as one of the "women across the country who have displayed amazing strength and courage as breast cancer survivors, and are strong personal supporters or advocates fighting for a cure." As part of this award, Kids II Foundation and Bright Starts will donate $1,000.

Thanks Sarah and Siegby of Miminko Apparel, local moms with a socially responsible baby clothing company, who donated 10% of sales from certain Christmas items. Click on: http://www.miminkoapparel.com/charity/mlwr.html

If you missed the chance to purchase a Chari-T from Miminko at Christmastime, we're pleased to announce that Miminko Apparel has extended their support of My Little Waiting Room through June! Thanks Sarah and Siegby!

Thank you American Express Members Project! Although we didn't make it into the top 5 to receive funding, we placed 13 out of nearly 1,200 projects nationwide. We were also partnered with the wonderful Starlight Children's Foundation. Further, we garnered more than 20,000 views on our project page from all over the country, secured nearly 2,000 votes in the semifinals and received the fourth highest amount of comments, showing how much people support the idea. We also landed more than 1,850 views of our video on You Tube and were mentioned on Good Morning America.

Survey Says!

Thanks to you, we've received more than 180 survey responses so far at www.mylittlewaitingroom.org. Here are a few of the comments received to date:

“I think you have a wonderful idea... I can't tell you what went through my mind as the doctor told me that I might have liver cancer while his nurse held my daughter in an exam room next door."

“I have a son with a rare genetic disorder. Finding care for my other son while we attend doctor's appointments is always a challenge - especially when there's an emergency."

“I think you have a GREAT idea. Not everyone has family and neighbors to depend on.”
